Domain Name Registration

There are numerous domain registrars that provide varying levels of service and prices starting as low as $10 a year per domain name. You can visit many domain registrars, and search to see if the domain name you are seeking is available. There are several top level domain suffixes the most common is .com, followed by .net, .org, and .biz. A domain name identified with any suffix is considered a single registration. So, if you wanted to purchase yoursitename.com and yoursitename.net, you would be charged for two annual registrations.

Commonly, registrars also require a minimum of two years for a new registration. While some accept checks, or PayPal, the majority accept major credit cards as a form of payment.

Finally, when you are registering your domain name, you will need to know which hosting provider you plan to use. Specifically, you will need to know the domain name servers where your register domain name will point to.

Finding the right hosting company can be a frustrating and time-consuming job. Each user's needs are different, meaning that the choice that may be best for you could be totally wrong for someone else.
